چکیده

A numerical method is presented for stability analysis of cable–bar structures. An optimization problem is formulated to find the minimum value of the incremental total potential energy that depends on the direction of the incremental displacements. The penalty method with slack variables is used for representing the discontinuity in member stiffness. The tangent stiffness matrix is shifted to be positive definite so that the minimum of its quadratic form is found by the inverse-power method. It is shown in the numerical examples that the minimum value of the incremental potential energy and the associated displacement increments can be found with good accuracy in about 10 steps of iteration. 2008 Elsevier Ltd. Stability Analysis and Robust PID Control of Cable Driven Robots Considering Elasticity in Cables

In this paper robust PID control of fully-constrained cable driven parallel manipulators with elastic cables is studied in detail. In dynamic analysis, it is assumed that the dominant dynamics of cable can be approximated by linear axial spring. To develop the idea of control for cable robots with elastic cables, a robust PID control for cable driven robots with ideal rigid cables is firstly de...

Analysis of Natural Frequencies for a Laminated Composite Plate with Piezoelectric Patches using the First and Second Eigenvalue Derivatives

In this paper, the first and second order approximations of Taylor expansion are used for calculating the change of each natural frequency by modifying an arbitrary parameter of a system with a known amount and based on this approximation, the inverse eigenvalue problem is transformed to a solvable algebraic equation. The finite element formulation, based on the classical laminated plate theory...

A Multi-Objective HBMO-Based New FC-MCR Compensator for Damping of Power System Oscillations

In this paper, a novel compensator based on Magnetically Controlled Reactor with Fixed Capacitor banks (FC-MCR) is introduced and then power system stability in presence of this compensator is studied using an intelligent control method. The problem of robust FC-MCR-based damping controller design is formulated as a multi-objective optimization problem. The multi-objective problem is concocted ...

بررسی تعادل شبکه های کابلی الاستیک خطی با استفاده از کمینه سازی انرژی پتانسیل

Cables have always been under consideration as a structural element because of important features such as large strength to weight ratios and long spans. Their equilibrium analysis is an important issue in this regard. But this analysis involves highly nonlinear equations arising from large deformations and material nonlinearity. Different methods have been under use for numerical analysis of s...
